After twenty-three years in Tanzania, in 2015 we began exploring the possibility of expanding our teacher training programme into Rwanda. While education in East Africa is never easy, it helps to work with a government who shares our commitment and passion.

Rwanda considers education a critical investment for the country’s growth and development. This is evidenced by the increased share of the national budget allocated to the education sector, which is projected to be 22% by 2017.

Understandably, the country still faces many challenges such as the onerous task of double-shift teaching for the primary school teachers and the language transition from French to English, which has been very difficult for teachers who do not have adequate time to improve their skills in English language.

This is where we come in. We have assembled a highly responsive volunteer team of experts to advise and guide us as we begin working with teachers in Kigali. Our Board of Trustees is now in place and we're off to do what we do best, help teachers teach.
